Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to our practice.

We will call you as soon as possible to book your first midwife consultation around 7 – 9 weeks pregnancy. Of you wish to have an early first consultation, please let us know. Due to the the COVID-19 pandemic your first midwife consultation will be held via Zoom.

We know how important it is to find the very best midwifery care when you are expecting. Our aim is to support you from the moment you discover you’re pregnant until the birth of your baby and beyond. With the care we offer we want you to feel supported and guided through what is an exciting but sometimes also quite anxious time. The information on our website will provide you lots of information about the Dutch maternity and midwifery system and the complete midwifery care given by us.

We place emphasis on safety and quality as well as ensuring mothers-to-be to have the most enjoyable pregnancy and memorable birthing experience.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic only medical scans are available at the moment. Scans upon request are not allowed unfortunately. We know that you are probably keen to have an early scan in pregnancy to take your first look at your developing baby. Just to confirm roughly how many weeks pregnant you are and check all is well before you spread your good news. Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic, scans upon request are not available at the moment.  However, if there is a medical reason to perform an early scan (i.e. blood loss or a previous miscarriage) we can refer you to our ultrasound center Echo Amsterdam.

Do you receive antenatal care from the hospital because of a medical issue? We can provide your postnatal care, together with a maternity assistant (kraamzorg).

For your convenience we offer flexible midwife appointments, both day and evening consultations. Our ultrasound centre also offers a high level of flexibility and availability: appointments can be made throughout the week from 8.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m., three evenings a week from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and at the weekend or at short notice.

For all non-urgent questions, feel free to call the practice 020 – 470 00 67  from Mon to Fri 9 a.m. to 2 pm.

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone for urgent concerns (e.g. less fetal movements, blood loss, severe headache, feeling unwell), or when you think labour has started at 020 – 333 04 20.

We have extensive experience in guiding expat pregnant women and aim to meet the highest standards and look forward to seeing you in our practice.

We wish you a prosperous pregnancy, birth and beyond.
