The very best care

With providing our personal midwifery care during pregnancy, birth and beyond we want to empower you to make decisions about how you want to give birth and to feel supported at all times. We believe it is important to offer choice and control over the type of birthing you choose. This can be a home delivery, or in hospital, with or without pain relief, or a water birth. We will guide you one to one throughout your delivery, also when additional medical care is necessary (a so called medical indication). This means that we transfer the medical care to (the expertise of) the clinical midwife/gynaecologist and officially all care is transferred to the medical team of the hospital. However, we want to be there for you at all times and therefore offer 101+ care.

101+ care means that the part of medical care has been transferred to the hospital, but we stay with you to coach and guide you through. A second midwife of our team will take over our shift if necessary so that we can guarantee that we will stay with you. The costs for this are partly covered by the practice. However, since the health insurance doesn’t cover this additional care, we can’t offer this service for free completely. The first hour after the transfer, we are always there for you, regardless of whether you choose 101+ or not. After this first hour, the hourly rate is €200 with a maximum of €800 (even if it takes longer than 4 hours). Read more about our 101+ care during labour and birth.

24/7 availability

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone for urgent concerns (e.g. less fetal movements, blood loss, severe headache, feeling unwell), or when you think labour has started at 020 – 47 000 67 (press 1). For all non-urgent questions, feel free to call the practice during business hours Mon-Thu or send us an email.

For your convenience we offer flexible midwife appointments, both day and evening consultations. Our ultrasound centre also offers a high level of flexibility and availability: appointments can be made throughout the week from 8.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m., three evenings a week from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and at the weekend or at short notice.
